Meeting Dynamics, Inc. has produced over 4000 events to date including events in the United States , Mexico and the Caribbean . In addition to being the primary event designers and producers for the Heritage of Golf Tournament (currently hosted by Verizon) for the last 14 years, MDI has produced events for many Fortune 500 companies. MDI has assisted the White House for four Presidential visits to the southeast.

 

Theme parties and creative special events are how MDI got its start. We inventory over 20,000 sq.ft. of scenic and theatrical decorations and continually add to our extensive inventory of props and scenery. In addition to our extensive variety of theme oriented décor packages, we design and produce extraordinary social extravaganzas and weddings.

 

MDI arranges and coordinates all requests for local entertainers. We work with the best local acts to provide a wide array of musical styles and performances to fit every budget. Additionally, MDI has contacts with many character actors, characature artists, prognosticators and local celebrities.

 

OUR TEAM

Bill Winans, President

Bill brings over 30 years of experience in prop design and event planning services and support. His career spanned 10 years in catering and hospitality management with Marriott Hotels and Resorts in New Orleans , Atlanta and Hilton Head Island . Bill also held international management positions with Marriott Hotels, serving as Food and Beverage Director in Athens , Greece and Vienna , Austria .

Bill launched his first event services company, Paper Moon Productions, Inc. in Chicago in 1987 and later expanded to South Carolina . In 2002, Meeting Dynamics acquired the contract for the convention center at the Hilton Head Island Beach and Tennis Resort where they have created a unique special event venue in the 35,000 square foot facility.

 

Larry Walker, General Manager

Larry Walker , General Manager

In 1974 Larry started a 16-year career with the Marriott Corporation in a variety of Convention Services and Catering positions. In 1993 he left the hotel business for a chance to design special events and destination services for Deco Productions in Miami , Fla. Ten years ago he accepted the position of General Manager of Meeting Dynamics, Inc.

As an event planner, Larry has produced programs of up to 15,000 participants for city- wide conventions in Miami , San Francisco and Palm Springs . He has worked on the Barbara Sinatra / Variety Club Children's Hospital Telethon. He produced all of the private events for the Miami Dolphins for his last four years in the Miami area. The Dolphins Tribute to Don Shula (recorded by NFL Films), The 25 th Anniversary of the Undefeated Season Weekend, 3 years of the Orange Bowl Corporate Tent Village at Pro Player Stadium and the Inagural DOLPHANFEST at the Broward Convention Center. During his career he has produced over 100 concerts for major musical artists.

Larry was the subject of the People Profile in the August 1999 Meetings South Magazine, Contributed to theme event related articles in Meetings and Conventions Magazine and Successful Meetings Magazine, addressed or served on panel discussions for S.C. Governor's Conf. On Tourism, the Insurance Conference Planners Assn., N.A.C.E., M.P.I., H.S.M.A., ISES, S.I.T.E. and contributed to numerous articles in Marriott's Acclaim Magazine.

 

 

Sibohan Stolarcyk, MDI, Director of Destination Services

Siobhan comes to MDI with 18 years of Destination Management experience in the Lowcountry market. She oversees all aspects of our inbound corporate business service. Her duties include motor vehicle and marine transportation arrangements, off-site activity planning, sightseeing tours, spouse programs and overall coordination of convention programs. Siobhan is a member of Meeting Professionals International and the Hilton Head Hospitality Association.

 

Susan Hollan, Director of Sales, Dynamic Signs

She entered the special events field over a decade ago with Meeting Dynamics working in the production end as a resident artist and later becoming a prop designer. Her skills were honed in warehouse and production management and then in design and sales work.

Now she manages the signage department at Meeting. In this position, Susan is responsible for the all aspects of graphic design and production of signs. She also creates custom graphics and signage for events, including themed scenery.

 

Maurice Jones, MDI, Event Manger

Maurice is a graduate of Fayetteville State University and a decorated U.S. Army veteran. He has been an Event Manager and Event Designer with MDI since 2002. Maurice was integral in the management and operation of our Charleston S.C. office from 2002-2006 where he produced over 300 events including programs for the U.S. Coast Guard, IMI living, the Charleston CVB and the 2003 Annual National Assn of Catering Executives.

 

Liz Shumake, Graphic Design Manager

Liz has been with Meeting Dynamics for the past 10 years. She is responsible for creating and producing visual marketing materials for Meeting Dynamics, as well as all graphic design aspects of event production.  

Liz began working with the company in the art department, painting props and scenery, her major in college.  From there she began working in the graphic design and signage department, and later into a managerial position where she has handled graphics, as well as the marketing and advertising aspect of the business.

  For the past 7 years, Liz has also operated her own portraiture business, specializing in children and pets, as well as freelance graphic design work .

 

Stephen Rigg, Operations Manager

Stephen has worked with the company since 1994 and maintains quality experience in all key aspects of the industry. His operational responsibilities include event design and production details, as well as overseeing truck crews, show managers and travel schedules.

During his 14 years with Meeting Dynamics, Stephen has traveled internationally to oversee event operations and production. He has worked on events all across the U.S. in addition to Key West and Jamaica .

Stephen has worked as a movie extra, as well as worked on set design and production. He is an active participant and contributor to the design and development of the Living History Festivals and most recently was involved in the production of the Tybee Island Pirate Fest.

 

Jeff Harris, Art Director and Designer

Jeff Harris has been working with Meeting Dynamics on a part-time/free-lance basis for the past 16 years. During that time he has collaborated on over 50 major projects with the company. He is an award-wining Theatrical Set Designer, specializing in Business Meetings, Technical Exhibits and Model Building .

His projects include design and fabrication for Great America Theme Parks, Drury Lane Theatres, Hyatt Hotels, Marriott International, Sheraton Corporation, McDonald's, General Motors, and many Fortune 500 companies. Based out of Chicago , Illinois , Jeff has been a part of the theatrical art and special events design industry for over 35 years.

Jeremy Miles,

Jeremy “Miles” Miles has numerous artistic accomplishments during 7 years and is a graduate of the North Carolina School of the Arts and the Fort Lauderdale Art *+Institute. His work has been featured in multiple science fiction magazines and his fine art has been exhibited in the Corcaron Museum of Art, D.C. where he was awarded an American Visions award. He has designed posters, T-shirts, CD covers for Zach Deputy LLC. His talents also include: Digital Color Correction, Digital Photo Retouching, Photo Editing/Video Editing, Sound Editing and Production, Product Design, Illustration, Maquettes/Sculpture, Storyboarding, Music Video Development

 

Leesa Phipps, Floral Designer

Leesa has been the principal floral designer for Meeting Dynamics for the past 9 years. She is also an expert event organizer and planner. Her responsibilities include ordering inventory and planning detail décor and personal gifts.

Beginning her career in floral design over 30 years ago, Leesa has successful experience with many major events, including the National Governors Coalition in Charleston . This event was one of her proudest when her event team turned an entire downtown city block of King Street into a scene from Oklahoma .

Leesa is a motivational speaker for the National Handicap Society and Amputee Coalition. She contributes to local homeless shelters, as well as Habitat for Humanity.

 

Matt Hinton, Production Manager

Matt is responsible for the overall installation and execution of event services. In this position, Matt oversees general aspects of event support and production, which include prop design and inventory, construction, placement and general support needs that arise throughout each event.

Serving 10 years at Meeting Dynamics, Matt is a key attribute to the production and success of major events across the country, which extends from New York to San Francisco , and Las Vegas to Key Largo .

 

Anthony Walls, Production Manager / Upholster/Craftsman

Anthony has been with Meeting Dynamics since 2005 operating the upholstery department. He designs and recovers couches, chairs and other furniture.
